How to Deposit & Mint Tokens

Depositing USDC into ToneFinance gives you sector tokens in return. This is how you invest in the AI token basket.

What Happens When You Deposit

The minting process has multiple steps to ensure every sector token is fully backed by underlying assets:

1. You deposit USDC → Creates a pending deposit in the vault
2. Fulfillment engine activates → Gathers the underlying AI tokens from the market
3. Engine deposits tokens into vault → Adds the underlying tokens to the vault’s holdings
4. Sector tokens mint → Only after underlying tokens arrive, sector tokens are created and sent to you

This ensures each sector token has exactly 1:1 backing—every token you hold is backed by real underlying assets.

Important: The entire process usually takes about 10-20 seconds. Here’s what you’ll see at each step.

Step 1: Open ToneFinance

Visit the ToneFinance app .

You should see:

• Your wallet connected (shows your address)
• The vault card with deposit/withdraw options
• Your current USDC balance

Step 2: Approve USDC (First Time Only)

If this is your first deposit, you need to approve USDC spending:

1. Click the “Approve USDC” button
2. A MetaMask popup appears
3. Review the amount and click “Approve”
4. Wait for the transaction to complete (usually 5-10 seconds)

You only need to do this once. Future deposits skip this step.

Step 3: Enter Deposit Amount

1. Click the input field in the deposit card
2. Enter the amount of USDC you want to deposit (e.g., 10)
3. You’ll see the estimated number of sector tokens you’ll receive
4. There is no minimum deposit during alpha—even a small amount works!

Step 4: Confirm Deposit

1. Click “Deposit” button
2. MetaMask asks you to confirm the transaction
3. Review the details and click “Confirm”
4. MetaMask shows the transaction is processing

Step 5: Wait for Fulfillment

After you confirm:

What happens behind the scenes:

1. Your deposit is marked as “pending” in the vault
2. The fulfillment engine detects your pending deposit
3. It acquires the underlying AI tokens from the market
4. It deposits those tokens into the sector vault
5. The vault mints sector tokens and sends them to you

What you’ll see:

• Status shows “Processing…” or similar
• Fulfillment engine is working to gather underlying tokens
• Once complete, you’ll receive your sector tokens

This takes about 10-20 seconds.

During this time:

• ✅ Do NOT close the page
• ✅ Do NOT refresh the browser
• ❌ Do NOT submit another deposit yet

Step 6: Success!

When fulfillment is complete:

1. Status changes to “Success” or similar
2. Your sector token balance increases
3. You now own sector tokens fully backed by underlying AI tokens
4. The fulfillment engine confirmed the underlying tokens are safely in the vault

Congratulations! You’ve successfully minted ToneFinance tokens. Each token you hold is 100% backed by real underlying assets in the vault.

What You Now Own

Your sector tokens represent a basket of AI tokens. Check the app to see the current composition and weight of each token in your basket.

Common Questions

How long will fulfillment take? Usually 10-20 seconds, sometimes up to a minute depending on network conditions.

What if I see “Pending”? Your deposit is being processed. Wait a few more seconds and refresh the page.

Why is the status still showing? If it’s taking longer than a minute, check Troubleshooting.

Can I deposit multiple times? Yes! Each deposit is independent. Just repeat these steps.
